Heard County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office or a service of the Heard County Sheriff's Office. We cannot confirm custody, release anyone, accept bond, or retrieve official booking records. For a current status or a source document, contact the government office that holds the record.

Where to Check a Heard County Record

The Heard County Busted Mugshots home guide explains the local lookup path. For an official answer, use the custodian that created or now holds the record. The principal local contact is:

Heard County Sheriff's Office and Heard County Jail

Mail: P.O. Box 339

Fax: 706-675-0737
Non-emergency dispatch: 706-675-3328
Jail administrative hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; the jail is staffed continuously
Open-records email: jolinger@heardcountyga.com
Official pages: HCSO contact, Jail Division, and open-records form

HCSO's open-records form says it will respond within three business days and asks requesters to allow at least three business days after the incident. That timing describes the request process, not a promise that every record or photograph will be produced. The form provides for lawful cost estimates rather than a flat booking-photo fee. The current HCSO site does not show a verified searchable jail roster or recent-bookings feed, so a targeted request or direct call is the documented local fallback.

Use the following source map for the next step:

  • Heard County booking and custody. Use HCSO for a local booking record, a current Heard County Jail question, or a request for records held by the sheriff. A just-booked person, a released person, and a person transferred elsewhere can have different record locations.
  • Heard Superior Court and Georgia Courts. For the case outcome after booking, contact the Heard Superior Court clerk at 215 East Court Square, P.O. Box 249, Franklin, GA 30217, 706-675-3301, fax 706-675-6138, or tteal@heardcountyga.com. The clerk lists Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The Georgia Courts e-access portal is the statewide online route where the relevant case is available.
  • Georgia state custody. For a person sentenced to state prison, use the Georgia Department of Corrections Find an Offender search. A GDC result is a state-custody record and should not be treated as a current Heard County Jail booking.
  • Federal or immigration custody. Check the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator for federal custody and the ICE detainee locator for immigration detention. These systems are separate from HCSO and from Georgia's county jail records.
  • Municipal incident records. Franklin has a police department and publishes police forms. The official service-delivery research documents off-duty HCSO deputies serving Ephesus and Centralhatchee rather than a standalone current police department. That distinction can affect which agency holds an incident report, even though Heard County Jail is the only documented local booking facility.
